Flatland Timbers operations started towards the end of 2007 in order to partipate in the timber supply business which has been growing rapidly but with little resources for those felling the trees. The establishment of Flatland Timbers aimed at making quality timber cuts of various sizes and dimensions available on the market for both furniture and construction works. |

Malawi is made up of a variety of woodlands and tropical rainforests from which a selected variety of soft and hard wood comes from and Flatland Timbers has become one of the most reliable supplier of special and well cut timber in the country. There are Flatland Timber offices in Chikangawa in the North, Lilongwe in the centre and Blantyre in Chigumula area in the South. There are still some forests of the unique Mulanje cedar on the Mulanje Massif where limited harvest of the unique timber is made available.

Felling of pine trees in Chikangawa is one of the MULLI BROTHERS LTD latest acquisitions in business development. Chikangawa tree plantation on Viphya Plateau in northern Malawi remains the largest man-made forest in Africa. The establishment in Chingawa forest is where all pine timbers are sewn into various sizes according to order specifications. |

The timber sewing is machine aided using LT20 woodmizers which operate long hours including working on shifts whenever need arises in order to meet the ever growing demand. |

In Lilongwe, Flatland Timbers has a factory producing value added products like doors, cupboards, chairs and many othr household items. The wood factory has over 40 technical staff comprising of mechanists and carpenters and joiners and a nucleus of administration and management team to oversee the operations. In Chigumula previously known as Nantipwili there is a timber sales yard for Flatland Timbers stocking a whole variety of timber for sale. |
